Help! My arm is broken! Linking health ministry to Him!
Many Christians fail to acknowledge the link between health and Him (Jesus Christ).
Thus there is a separation of duties - the Church
focuses on the "soul" and "spiritual matters" and Medicine
focuses on the physical maladies, diagnosis and treatment.
Although many Christians (Adventists included) have allowed this painful amputation to take place, I look to Christ's ministry as my example. He combined physical healing with the forgiveness of sins. He combined spiritual healing with restoration of health. I'd like to follow His example!
I've heard that health ministry is the "right arm" of the Gospel. But what can we do when the right arm of health ministry is broken? Some say that those involved with health ministry only focus on pumping up their own muscles - bigger medical practices, more money, more power, but no connection with the Body of Christ - His Church.
When the right arm isn't working right, there is a lot of pain and problems.
So I drove to Kansas, looking for someone who can set this broken arm. How can we link health ministry to the Gospel of Christ. I interviewed Pastor Don Mackintosh, BSN, MDiv, from the Three Angels Seventh-day Adventist Church
located in Wichita, Kansas.
To help set my broken arm, Pastor Mackintosh developed a seminar entitled, "Health to Him." This series of seven CD's outlines how Pastor Mackintosh & his team at Three Angels Church use health education to present Christ to the residents of Wichita, Kansas. This series is available for $40.00
